Mockingbird Spirit: The First Alcohol Free ‘Tequila’
Mockingbird Spirit has launched the first ever alcohol free ‘tequila’ made with authentic blue weber agave.
The brand was launched by 30-year-old founder, Fern McCoy, during the Covid-19 lockdown, building on her years of experience in the drinks industry, specifically within alcoholic drink launches.
Over 7 months of rigorous tasting, testing and tweaking lead to the world’s first alcohol free, Tequila-inspired spirit, made with Blue Weber Agave, straight from Mexico. Their company ethos is to embody the spirit of the mockingbird, by mimicking the traditional taste of Tequila and the essence of Mezcal.
“It’s extremely exciting to bring the Mockingbird Spirit to life, using our authentic Mexican ingredients with the added functionality of the adaptogen Ashwagandha. Whilst currently a very unique product, we hope it brings a sense of inclusivity to drinkers and non-drinkers alike. Everyone deserves to have all the margaritas with none of the migraines, whether you’re cutting back, cutting out, pregnant, driving or just wanting to sample something a little bit different. Hopefully Mockingbird Spirit can tick some boxes that until now have been left unticked.“Fern McCoy, Founder of Mockingbird Spirit
Mockingbird Spirit is designed to be enjoyed in mezcal style mocktails or paired with fresh lime and a club soda mixer. It’s made using only vegan ingredients and has a mere 12 calories per 50ml serving, allowing you to have ‘all the margaritas with none of the migraines.’
Mockingbird Spirit also includes another hero ingredient, Ashwagandha.
Prominent in the art of Ayurveda; Ashwagandha is a proven adaptogen, meaning it helps your body manage stress and anxiety. This helps you to unwind and makes Mockingbird Spirit a welcome addition to a sober night or a sober life.
Launched in August, their drinks are now available in 5cl and 50cl bottles, from their website, The Alcohol Free Co and on Amazon.
