Spread some cheer this Christmas with the ultimate parent hack from Munchy Play®.
Munchy Play® designs family lifestyle products that make your life easier and more fun. The brand was launched during lockdown (June 2020) after three years in development.
Their children’s tableware range is the first to feature a built-in track for toy cars, trains, and teddies, solving mealtime struggles. There are three designs – ideal for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Shortlisted in the Junior Design Awards for ‘Best Children’s Tableware Design’ and winners of Theo Paphitis’ ‘SBS,’ Munchy Play® products were/are designed by a mum to help keep mealtimes on track.
The product(s) make for an ideal stocking filler for your little ones, or for a Secret Santa for a much-deserving parent. As a bonus, it’s a fun way to serve up Christmas lunch, too.
As any parent will know, children can lose interest in dining around the age of two. Faced with this issue, founder Sophia Procter was experimenting with ways to bring her son to the table. She discovered that putting a track around his plate was an instant hit, and the opportunity was too good to pass up.
Prior to starting the business, Sophia worked for British Airways – helping to build brand partnerships, including: the London 2012 Games, Team GB, BAFTA and Comic Relief.
Munchy was invited onto Amazon Launchpad and was mentored by their Accelerator Scheme, with Enterprise Nation. Today they are available on Amazon, Munchy Play, Etsy, The Sensory Touch and People Hive gift shop.
“This year especially, we all deserve to treat ourselves, as well as those around us. Loved by parents, grandparents and of course children, Munchy Play kids’ plates bring fun and cheer to the festive season, as well as all-year round. The universal track is compatible with all your child’s favourite toys, helping to keep little ones entertained and excited about mealtimes,” said Sophia Procter, Munchy Play® founder and CEO.
With a non-slip base and high-sides for self-feeding, the collection is suitable for children aged six months upward.
The gender-universal collection is illustrated by award-winning artist Lydia Leith, and includes:
- The Munchy Play® Choo-Choo plate, dazzling in ‘custard yellow’. Little ones can whizz trains around meals on a journey to platform yum.
- The Munchy Play® Vroom-Vroom plate in ‘ice-blue’. Zoom vehicles around the racetrack and past the chequered flag, before stopping to refuel!
- The Munchy Play® Tea Party plate in ‘marshmallow white’. Made for teddy bear picnics and tea parties, with place settings on a picnic table.
Their products are Made in Britain, are BPA, PVC and melamine free, and are dishwasher safe.
