Piccolo Launches Their ‘One For You, One For Mum,’ Campaign – To Help Families In Need

With a record number of families now using foodbanks, Piccolo is rising to the occasion and is saving the day, – by helping to support those families most in need, by matching every Piccolo pouch bought from Waitrose with a donation throughout February.

Piccolo has done a lot of good during the pandemic, from creating jobs, to donating 10000 meals over Christmas.

Now, the organic baby food brand aims to donate over 50,000 meals to mums in need during this difficult time, by supporting vulnerable parents nationwide, amid concerns over the Government’s Free School Meals parcels. To do so, they are matching every pouch purchased in Waitrose with a donation, and their pouch meals are full of vegetables.

Piccolo is also hosting a competition for consumers in an effort to encourage and increase donations. All consumers need to do is email a photo of their receipt to: oneformum@piccolofoods.uk.

With food poverty in the UK worsening as a result of the pandemic, the Independent Food Aid Network reported that food bank usage has seen an increase of 120%*. As a result, food banks are now facing shortages and are under pressure, and so the need for donations has never been more crucial.

By launching their new ‘One For You, One For Mum’ campaign, Piccolo is continuing its on-going commitment towards giving back. The donations will go to some of the UK’s top food banks, including Fare Share, City Harvest and children’s charities, to make sure that babies and children get the healthy meals they need.

The charities are striving to distribute food donations to the vulnerable by delivering meals to community organisations which play an integral role in children’s lives. Piccolo’s donation aims to support this essential work and to provide some relief to families after a challenging year.

Piccolo Founder, Cat Gazzoli, said:“2020 was a difficult year for many households and we want to do what we can to take some pressure off families. Through February, we’ll be donating a Piccolo pouch for every pouch bought in Waitrose. The work done by these charities is invaluable, so we want to support them however we can.

To support the campaign, customers can purchase Piccolo pouches from Waitrose in-store, or online.
