The Re.Store: The UK Fashion Brand Injecting Leisure Into Athleisure

The Re.Store is a made-in-Britain, ‘slow’ fashion brand, with an emphasis on ‘putting the leisure into athleisure,’ with their range of pieces stylishly designed to give a panache look to your workout routine.

The brand makes visually soothing outfits for workouts, and their design approach is built/based around a blue pattern. The range includes tops, leggings, bra tops, accessories, and unisex shirts.

Having been a fashion designer for 15 years (and a yoga teacher for 7), Founder, Michelle Howard – left her full-time design role in July 2019 to start The Re.Store, and she was planning to launch her/their first collection in September, 2020.

But sadly, the coronavirus pandemic hit, and Michelle had just accepted an offer on her house (without a home to move to), and so, she decided to relocate to Devon, and live with her father-in-law.  Factoring in the hold-ups, she somehow still managed to launch her brand in October 2020.

And thankfully, since launching, the Christmas period proved to be a promising time for Michelle’s business: ‘The encouragement to shop small at Christmas and to support small local businesses during the global pandemic has really encouraged consumers to buy and support small. Since Brexit I feel consumers are also looking for UK made products, which has really helped us grow.’

And now, orders haven’t stopped coming through (even during a locked down January), and-Michelle is currently in the process of developing a brand new collection for later on this year.
