OLPRO Plants 320 Trees In First Month of New Initiative

Camping-equipment specialist, OLPRO, – has funded the planting of 320 trees, following the first month of its brand new initiative, to plant one tree for each OLPRO tent and awning sold.

To date, the brand has already been able to offset a total of 4.71 tonnes of carbon, by planting a total of 298 mangrove trees in Madagascar, 19 trees in the reforestation of Mozambique, and 3 trees in Nicaragua.

OLPRO launched their tree-planting initiative in celebration of the company’s 10 year anniversary as a business in 2021. The tree-planting guarantee that OLPRO has launched in partnership with UK-based, Ecologi, is expected to lead to the planting of thousands of trees within the first year.

Daniel Walton, Founder of OLPRO, said: “We’re delighted with the start we’ve had for our tree-planting initiative and we take great pride in every single one of the 320 trees that have already been planted so far. We’ve always taken every effort to give back to the community and I’d like to think this is a large part of the reason why customers are always happy to buy their outdoor products from OLPRO.”

He also said: “It’s only natural that as we continue to sell our products to more countries than ever before, we should also take the responsibility of helping to improve the sustainability of our planet. Our ultimate aim is to become a carbon-neutral company that benefits the environment that our customers love so much.”

2020 was a record-breaking year for OLPRO, who saw a 98% increase in orders year on year, as well as a 49% increase in the number of visitors to its website. OLPRO also saw an increased demand for its camping products internationally, selling products to a total of 29 different countries.

Camping has become one of the most popular choices for staycations, as holiday-goers opt for the safety of being able to enjoy fresh air and still maintain social distancing. Campsites have ensured that there is a good amount of distance between pitches, and have worked to improve cleaning measures to ensure all campers are safe.

OLPRO (based in Worcester, UK) was founded in 2011, and has become a leading designer and manufacturer of tents, campervan awnings and camping equipment. OLPRO export across the world via a range of marketplaces, but primarily through the OLPRO website.

The brand was named as a finalist for ‘Best Rural Retail Business’ at the Rural Business Awards 2021 – in partnership with Amazon. OLPRO also won the West Midlands ‘Digital/E-Commerce Business of the Year 2020’ at the Federation of Small Business Awards.

Daniel founded OLPRO in 2011, because he wanted to create a stand-out camping brand for people who love the great outdoors, but who wanted something different, both technically and in terms of appearance. The company creates tents, camper van awnings, melamine, windbreaks and more.

Daniel was previously the Director of 4 other businesses before setting up OLPRO, and is renowned in online sales, – having worked for some of the largest outdoor camping brands before going it alone.
