Peloton: The Work-Out Brand That Brings Studio-Style Workouts To Your Home

Peloton is a global, interactive-fitness platform, – that brings with it – the energy and benefits of a studio-style workout – to the convenience (and comfort) of your own home.

This is made possible thanks to their online live (and on-demand) classes taught by a roster of elite instructors, making home workouts more accessible than ever before, AND their Peloton Bike(s), Peloton Bike+, Peloton Tread(s), – and let’s not forget about the Peloton App.

Starting a work-out regime can hard, especially when so many obstacles stand in the way of us keeping them regular.

John Foley, the Founder And CEO of Peloton, experienced this first hand, – when he and his wife, Jill – could no longer fit studio classes into their busy schedules with two kids at home, and so Peloton became their solution in 2012, selling their first device back in 2013. The uniquely innovative brand offers three physical products to create your at-home fitness studio, along with digital services:

  • The Peloton Bike features a 22″ HD touchscreen, a smooth magnetic resistance, a near-silent belt drive that reduces noise + disruption, and a monthly subscription for unlimited online live and on-demand classes.
  • The Peloton Bike + unlocks a more seamless workout experience, by giving your indoor cycling routine what it craves: on and off-bike content. It also offers a 23.8″ HD touchscreen with 360 degree rotation, and a four-speaker sound system, as well.

This bike makes it easier to complement indoor cycling classes with Peloton’s strength, yoga, stretching and meditation programs, – all from one piece of centralised equipment.

  • And finally, the Peloton Tread: this device combines a modern design with Peloton’s compelling running and strength training content for an intense total body workout.

And to turbo-charge all of these products, customers also get access to the Peloton App as well, which is free to all-access members that own a Bike or a Tread. App-only membership can be purchased, too. And, bikes can be financed for up to 39 months.

Featuring thousands of online classes across categories such as indoor cycling, running, walking, strength, stretching, cardio, yoga and meditation, Peloton became the winner of the 2017 + 2018 Webby Award for ‘best health and fitness app.’ And since the brand’s launch in 2012, Peloton has been on a soaring upward trajectory.

The brand opened its’ first showroom in November 2013, secured a partnership with Westin Hotels + Resorts in April 2017, live-streamed classes from NBC’s broadcast studio during the XXIII Olympic Winter Games, launched in the UK in September 2018, AND became available on Apple TV in June 2020.

More recently, in November 2020, the brand secured a multi-year partnership with Beyonce. Now, Peloton has over 115 retail showroom locations in the US, UK, Germany and Canada, with plans to roll out more in the coming months.
