British Baby Box: Named As ‘Baby Product Retailer Of The Year,’ By Prestige Awards

British Baby Box has been named as ‘Baby Product Retailer Of The Year’ by Prestige Award’s judges, – who fell in love with the brand, the concept, and the Founders’ personal touch.

The Prestige Awards informed British Baby Box in May 2021 that they had been named ‘Baby Product Retailer of the Year’ for London + South East, which is another incredible milestone for the baby expert brand.

British Baby Box provides a range of baby boxes that include(s) five different packages, – all of which contain(s) carefully selected items, such as: 100% organic cotton bedding, super-soft clothes, Comfortchews from Cheeky Chompers, and baby wheels from Chiggs (to help you keep track when it comes to feeding your little one).

Their unique range is designed to make shopping for your new-born baby as easy as possible, and the box itself also acts as a safe place for your baby to sleep (as long as you follow safe-sleeping guidelines).

Founded by two mothers, Sarah Simmons and Susan Purse, in June 2015 – the company was inspired by a long-running Finnish tradition, in which the government sends expectant mothers a box containing a selection of baby-related items, to help get them started towards their journey of becoming a new mother.

Sarah and Susan decided to take a version of the concept to the UK, and since launching, – the idea has taken off. They’re proud to be an official supplier to the Scottish Government, – for whom they’ve delivered more than 100,000 baby boxes to date.

The brand has also partnered with several charities, including: Save The Children (where they’ve reached the most vulnerable mums and their babies), AND they’ve sent baby boxes to refugee camps in Greece, to hospitals in Syria, and to women’s charities in Iraq.

Closer to home, British Baby Box has also supported charities such as Alternatives Watford, – who support(s) vulnerable women in their community, and, using donations from across the country, – they’ve sent boxes for babies left homeless as a result of the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower.

“We believe that all babies deserve the best start in life, so we feel incredibly proud to have provided over 500,000 British Baby Boxes around the world,” said BBB’s Founders, Sarah Simmons and Susan Purse.

Unfortunately, Covid 19 has led to an increase in baby bank enquiries, which they’ve been tackling head on. They’ve worked closely with baby banks, and other charities to provide thousands of baby boxes across the world for those in need.

British Baby Box has also won plenty of other awards, including: the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year (in the Innovation category), two awards in the Project Baby Magazine Awards, and Gold for a campaign to support new parents at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride awards.
