Philip Kingsley Has Relaunched Their Original Elasticizer To A Limited Edition Fragrance Called ‘Elasticizer Therapies’

Containing the same classic formula as their original Elasticizer, – Philip Kingsley has relaunched their Elasticizer product as a limited-edition fragrance (with the added benefits of a fragrance to evoke the senses and a feeling of wellbeing), and they’ve named it ‘Elasticizer Therapies.’

The original (and iconic) Elasticizer has won countless beauty awards, and it boasts a whole host of celebrity fans. It was originally developed for Audrey Hepburn.

Their new, limited edition product is called: ‘Elasticizer Therapies: Egyptian Jasmine and Mandarin,’ and it’s a deep-conditioning treatment. Expertly blended, the distinctive floral notes of Jasmine inspires harmony and optimism, whilst zesty Mandarin revitalises, – encouraging feelings of joy and vibrancy.

The product also contains energising notes of orange zest and lemon, calming tones of Neroli, Freesia and White Flowers, and it comes with added feelings of warmth from Musk and Vanilla.

In terms of key ingredients, the new product include(s):

Hydrolyzed Elastin: a protein that penetrates your hair shaft and increases its elasticity without weighing your hair down,
Castor Oil: best known for its amazing hair health benefits of helping to lock in moisture,
Olive Oil: high in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, – it moisturises and makes your hair look shiny and healthy,
Glycerin: it helps your hair to retain moisture, which makes the effects last longer.

Philip Kingsley’s daughter, Anabel Kingsley, recalls the story of how her father first created the Elasticiser: ‘Audrey Hepburn was doing a lot of filming, and her hair was in terrible condition because of all the styling and colouring they were doing on set. So she went to see my father, and she requested a moisturising treatment that wasn’t going to weigh her hair down, as she had quite fine hair.“

She added: ‘Audrey wanted a product that would get her hair in better condition, and give it more ‘body and shine,’ and so my father went straight to his laboratory in London’s East End, and he formulated the Elasticizer just for her. She loved it so much, that she ordered pots and pots to be sent over to her home in Switzerland – and after seeing its success, he launched it as part of our haircare range.’

His passion for hair started at age 16 when he began assisting at his uncle’s hairdressing salon in London’s East End, but he was unable to afford university, so he started to save money to study at the Institute of Trichologists.
