A Chemist Duo Has Launched Emunity: The FIRST EVER Detox Health Drink To Harness Nettle Plants (And Its’ Benefits)

Two UK-based chemists have launched Emunity: the FIRST EVER detox health drink to harness the healing and immunity-boosting benefits of Nettle plants, – in a can.

The Stinging Nettle (or the ‘Urtica Dioica’) is a plant that has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, and although it is an ordinary plant, it has some extraordinary qualities: nettles contain biologically-active compounds, known to lower blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. The plant can reduce the effects of skin photoaging, and it can help to fight the symptoms of hay fever, along with containing antibacterial properties, as well as boosting your immune system.

Unfortunately, nettle on its own isn’t very tasty, so a chemist duo, Roy Lamb and Nasir Isaji, – have infused it with a range of garden botanicals, – each with their own health properties, hence creating Emunity in 2021 in two great-tasting flavours: Wild Strawberry and Gooseberry.

Emunity’s Wild Strawberry drink contains immune-boosting Nettle, wild strawberries, meadowsweet, chamomile and cucumber. Evoking the taste of a summer day in the garden, the drink is packed with nutrients and antioxidants which can help to reduce cholesterol, blood pressure and oxidative stress.

Emunity’s Gooseberry drink contains immune-boosting Nettle, gooseberries, dandelion, rosemary and thyme, and it’s packed with nutrients to help you improve your eyesight and memory, – reducing the risk of cancer, and even helping to slow the aging process.

The drinks are available in 250ml grab-and-go cans.

“We’re both passionate about helping people stay healthy, so developing a drink full of genuine health benefits seemed like the obvious thing to do,” said Co-Founder, Nasir. “The recipe for Emunity is inspired by my herbalist great-Grandfather who used to create a ‘cure-all tea’ from nettle. When I looked into it, I could see why nettle was so effective,” added Co-Founder, Roy.
