Camping Equipment Specialists, OLPRO Has Planted 1,680 TREES In Just 6 Months, Following Their Campaign
The Worcestershire-based company has contributed to reforestation projects across the world, by planting a total of 937 trees in Madagascar, 740 trees in Mozambique, and 3 trees in Nicaragua. After just 6 months, OLPRO is on track to achieve their ambition to plant thousands of trees within the first year of the initiative.
OLPRO launched the tree-planting initiative in celebration of the company’s 10-year anniversary as a business. The company has run the initiative in partnership with the tree-planting, carbon offsetting specialists, Ecologi.
Daniel Walton, the Founder of OLPRO, said: “We’re proud to have planted such a significant number of trees in a such a short space of time. We take great pride as a company in doing our bit to give back to the great outdoors that we all love so much“
“We also know that this is something our customers value, and we like to think that it’s one of the reasons why they’re so happy to buy their products from OLPRO. Our ultimate aim is to become a carbon-neutral company, and we will continue to plant a tree for each OLPRO tent and awning sold,” he added.
2020 was a record-breaking year for OLPRO, who saw a 98% increase in orders year on year, as well as a 49% increase in the number of visitors to their website. OLPRO also saw an increase in demand for their camping products internationally, selling products to a total of 29 different countries.
Daniel founded OLPRO in 2011, because he wanted to create a stand-out camping brand for people who love the great outdoors, but who wanted something different, both technically and in terms of appearance. The company creates tents, camper van awnings, melamine, windbreaks and more.
OLPRO was also named as a finalist for ‘Best Rural Retail Business’ at the Rural Business Awards 2021 – in partnership with Amazon. OLPRO also won the West Midlands ‘Digital/E-Commerce Business of the Year 2020’ at the Federation of Small Business Awards.
And more recently, they were named as a winner of the Queen’s Award For Enterprise (International Trade, 2021), – making OLPRO one of the first businesses to win the award post-Brexit.
