Marshall & Brown took part in the ‘Speciality & Fine Food Fair‘ this year, which showcased the strength and rich diversity of the UK’s culinary scene.

The aim of the Speciality & Fine Food Fair (which took place over two days on the 6th-7th September this year, at Olympia London), – was to showcase artisanal food and drink to retailers, buyers, chefs, and independent business owners, – and to shine a spotlight on the latest trends and innovations in food and drink sector(s).

The packed-out crowd at Olympia enjoyed two days of sampling, industry insights, and the opportunity to finally meet in person once again, – after months and months of Zoom calls. The Speciality & Fine Food Fair (back for the first time since 2019, after last year’s event was cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic) featured a host of country pavilions dedicated to showcasing the best of the Caribbean, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, and more.

The award-winning purveyors of fine Jamaican fayre, Marshall & Brown, – provided visitors with a taste of the Caribbean. ‘The Taste of The Caribbean’ showcase included: rum cakes in a variety of flavours, organic and natural-flavour drinks, frozen Jamaican dishes, rich, creamy truffles spiced with deluxe Jamaican rum, all-natural Jerk sauces and seasonings, tantalising chutneys, and of course, Blue Mountain Coffee.

Marshall & Brown’s Founder, Dr. Carlton Brown, said: “It seemed as if the whole food and drink industry was cheering. The biggest challenge for so many food and drink brands now sits behind us. I am grateful to have been able to experience a few hours of ‘business as usual’ again, and to re-introduce our luxury Jamaican favourites to customers.”

Dr Brown launched the company, because he wanted to pay homage to his mother and mother-in-law, who are both passionate cooks. Food was the obvious choice, and so he set out to bring an authentic Jamaican experience to the UK. Their products retain the authentic taste of Jamaica. To date, the brand has won a one-star Great Taste Award, and they’re stocked in many retailers and online, including: Amazon, The Vegan Kind and Artisan Food Club.

Jamaican food has a rich and diverse heritage, using a wide variety of flavours and spices to create powerful meals that go beyond the jerked meat stereotype, often associated with Jamaican food, though – that is a very traditional Jamaican cooking technique.

Since Marshall & Brown’s inception, the Jamaican food brand has received praise from the highest sphere in society, including recognition from His Excellency, Mr Seth George Ramocan, Jamaica’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, who said: “Marshall + Brown has successfully sought out the very best of Jamaica to market across the globe. When you drink Marshall + Brown, it is authentic Blue Mountain coffee – the world’s top coffee brand.”
