PLAINANDSIMPLE: The London Based Circular Fashion Company

Meet PLAINANDSIMPLE (the circular fashion company): they’re creating a healthier planet through premium-quality essentials (which are “made to be remade”).

PLAINANDSIMPLE’s GOTS-certified, organic cotton t-shirts are responsibly made in ethical factories (designed to last). The fashion brand provides free returns, and a lifetime guarantee: when they’re worn out, simply send them back, and claim £6’s worth of store credit to use in future.

PLAINANDSIMPLE will break down your old clothes and turn them into new garments: because they’ve been made with 100% organic cotton (with no plastic) from fabric-to-label, they’re also 100% biodegradable. The business was Founded in 2019 by Duco Bloemers, with the goal of reducing waste in the fashion industry by creating premium-quality circular essentials that are “made to be remade.”

Each year, the human race purchases a staggering 80 BILLION items of clothing. With 73% going to landfill, and only 1% being recycled back into new clothing, it’s clear that something needs to change, and this is where PLAINANDSIMPLE steps in.

Prior to launching PLAINANDSIMPLE’s Founder, Duco Bloemers, – previously worked in branding, where he launched various start-ups. Duco has also worked at two of the largest global advertising agencies, where he looked after a rooster of brands, including: H&M, O2, Coty, RBS, Mercedes, Nestle, UMG, and Dominos: “Great products that are great for the planet and they’re made to be remade: that’s us at Plainandsimple,” said Duco.

Since launching just two years ago, PLAINANDSIMPLE has already raised £13,244 on Kickstarter, sold almost 1000 t-shirts to 14 different countries worldwide, clocked up almost a hundred 5-Star Trustpilot reviews, worked with Amazon through their Climate Pledge Friendly program to launch globally, AND they successfully completed an accelerator by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, AND completed their first circular return.
