KAIA Launches The ‘Cleanest, Greenest T-Shirts In The World’

KAIA Clothing: on a mission to “throw the gauntlet down at fast fashion’s feet,” by launching what they claim are “the cleanest, greenest t-shirts in the world.”

KAIA Clothing’s newly-launched t-shirt and leisure collection is a call-to-arms for the consumers of fast-fashion to reduce their CO2 emissions through cleaner purchases.

Karen has stated that she’d like to see the brand stop 100 tonnes of CO2 emissions by COP26: “If 200 people switched from fast-fashion purchases to clean t-shirts, they would collectively stop 1 tonne of CO2 emissions,” said KAIA Clothing’s Founder, Karen Adams.

Being a stats-driven brand, their claims around sustainability are supported with certification and supply chain transparency from The Fairtrade Foundation, and a GOTS organic certification. Their new t-shirt and leisure collection is manufactured in wind-powered, purpose-built facilities. The new collection is aptly named 100 billion STOP, and pieces are available in branded as well as unbranded options.

KAIA Clothing has also been awarded with the prestigious ESGMark, which is proudly displayed on their website. They’re also working towards becoming a BCorp.

The brand was launched last year in January 2020 by Karen Adams. The majority of Karen’s career has been spent in corporate retail, in merchandising (strategic planning, forecasting, and maximising profits using big data for PLCs, etc). Karen also studied fashion design and fashion drawing, and she built a retail software app that provides analytics for SME retailers.

Since launching, KAIA Clothing has been featured in a variety of publications, including Vogue Magazine, Tatler and Vanity Fair.
