Meet Ade + Antonia, The Mother-And-Daughter Duo Behind Okiki

A mother-daughter duo named Ade and Antonia – launched Okiki Skincare in 2016, with a natural armada of beautifully-handcrafted candles, soaps, shampoos + more.

Okiki’ means ‘prestigious’ in Yoruba.

The brand was born from a desire to create high-quality products, using ONLY the very best natural ingredients (whilst paying homage to Ade and Antonia’s Nigerian and Ghanaian heritage).

Many of the products are reminiscent of recipes that have been used by Ade and Antonia’s ancestors for generations.

The range is a line of natural, organic, luxurious products that are deeply satisfying for any individual, – each with a Yoruba and British influence.

One of Okiki’s best-sellers is a Grapefruit and Rose Clay Soap, which contains shea butter for a deeper clean. Another favourite is the Okikola (Fame of Wealth) Candle, which weighs 200g, with a 60-hour (on average) burn time. It’s a lovely candle to help you unwind during bath time(s): it’ll fill your room with aromas of ten exotic, spicy, woody essential oils.

Okiki’s Ade and Antonia are highly passionate about being cruelty-free and vegan, and therefore, their line of personal care products has been approved by the international ‘Leaping Bunny’ programme. Also, Okiki has partnered with the One Tree Planted initiative. This means that with every large candle sold, Ade and Antonia will donate £1.00 towards re-planting trees in Ghana.

Prior to launching Okiki, Antonia used to work in the financial services industry, but her and her mother decided that it was time to work full time on the business.

“We are SO pleased to have introduced such a great range of skin, home, and body products to the market. We are really passionate about producing natural, organic, and cruelty-free products for the community. Our aim is to make sure that our products are always high-quality and affordable,” said Ade and Antonia.

In terms of successes, Okiki boomed during the pandemic, selling out of stock overnight (on multiple occasions).
