KIND2 wants to make a positive difference to the planet with their 100% plastic-free range, which is vegan and palm-free (using natural fragrances and colours).
It was whilst she was living and working in Hong Kong as the Regional MD of a large, US-listed company, that KIND2’s Founder, Sue Campbell, witnessed the devastating effects of our obsession with single use plastic, which shocked Sue to the core.
‘Finding out that shampoo is 80% water was a lightbulb moment. It convinced me that this was an everyday product ready for innovation,” said Sue.
And so she decided to do something about it.
Founded in 2019, KIND2’s award-winning bars are pH balanced, gentle on the hair and scalp, and they’re formulated for a wide range of hair types, with hydrating, re-balancing and fragrance-free options available, – using targeted plant-based actives, up-cycled ingredients, AND hair-loving oils.
Sue’s vision is to create a wide range of salon-quality hair-care products that DON’T compromise on results, and that DON’T harm the planet, making it easy for customers to make the sustainable switch.
However, being a sustainable brand means more than just being plastic free. Therefore, KIND2 plants a tree with every order, through their chosen fulfilment partner, – a social enterprise, which is based in North London, that provides employment and training to people with learning difficulties.
Building on the success of their initial range, KIND2 have recently launched two new products: The Rebalancing One solid shampoo (a rosemary and mint-fragranced bar, which is formulated for shiny hair and scalp health), AND The Fragrance Free One solid conditioner (which features coconut, macadamia, and argan oils, combined with Chia Seed Extract, to form a light, yet powerful conditioner, that nourishes the hair, – making it soft and shiny).
The entire range is unisex, and pH-balanced, so the bars work in hard water with no transition phase, and they’re larger than most bars at 85g (lasting for between 60-80 washes, – the equivalent to two plastic bottles of shampoo). AND, they’re packaged in a recycled/recyclable /compostable cardboard boxes, which are made with carbon balanced paper, supporting the World Land Trust.
Since launching, KIND2 has won various awards, including the Beauty Shortlist Wellbeing Awards 2020 for Best Zero Waste Product, and the Pure Beauty Global Awards 2021 for Best New Sustainable Hair Product.
