BANANROCKET’s Cooking Cards: Foster Your Child’s Creativity.

Launched in January 2022, BANANROCKET is a newly-launched kids brand, that provides fun activities for children, starting out with their cooking activity cards.

BANANROCKET was inspired by Kasia Majewska’s need and desire to find activities to do with her kids, that didn’t involve devices or screens.

During lock-down, Kasia and her family would spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but the cookbooks she owned weren’t catered towards cooking with young children.

So, she designed a product that intertwines elements of play into real recipes, allowing kids to confidently navigate the kitchen: cooking activity cards. The cards come included with delicious, family recipes that are embedded into different mazes, puzzles, and “where’s Wally” activities, making it easy for kids to spot and list every ingredient needed.

Inside, you’ll find large, wipe-clean cards, feat. easy-to-cook recipes, such as Pirate’s Fish Pie, Super Cheesy Broccoli Pasta Bake, Healthy Carrot, Sweetcorn Muffins, and more. Each set includes activities to help your child to protect the world around them, including “Looking after our Brilliant Bugs,” “How to Save the Ocean,” and “Save the Bees,” amongst many others.

Cooking Activity Cards take away the distraction and the complication of technology, and place small humans in control. Kids learn new foods, and actively participate in the cooking process. “When people ask us what we make, we tell them: we make time. Our engaging cooking activity cards remove distractions, and make every delicious moment of family time count,” said Kasia Majewska.

The paper is recyclable, FSC®-certified, chlorine, and acid free, and the products use vegetable oil based inks, with all printing being Carbon Balanced by the World Land Trust. Despite launching only recently, the products are already stocked in Learning Bugs, and Kasia is in talks with five other retailers.

Prior to becoming a mum to two lovely boys, Kasia’s background was in Film Distribution and Film Production, but when the pandemic hit, like many other parents, she had to juggle her role at a leading arts University, with looking after her children.

During lock-down, I’d cook with my 4-year-old. And as I swiped to check the recipe, I felt his frustration at being so disconnected from the experience. I wanted my curious and creative boys to be at the heart of our family time. So, I built something that combines elements of play into real recipes,” Kasia concluded.
