‘It’s Our Planet Too’ Launches A ‘Tool Kit For Eco Heroes.’

Hove-based social enterprise, ‘It’s Our Planet Too‘ launched a brand new eco subscription box for children on Earth Day. Its called a ‘Tool Kit For Eco Heroes.’

Designed to connect children with our precious planet (and to empower parents to start conversations with their children about the environment), the tool kits are 100% sustainable and plastic-free: they provide a fun and exciting eco-led gift, that educates, and gives back.

The kits deliver thoughtfully-planned, fun activities, news, and information that encourages children to think about how what we do affects our environment, from tiny seedlings, to huge trees, and the animals that rely on them.

Knowing that many parents don’t feel equipped to speak to their children about environmental concerns, an easy crib sheet aimed at grown-ups is also included in the tool kits. The aim is to empower parents to start those conversations, and to make it easy for them to include their children on the journey towards greener living.

Inside the tool kit themed ‘Our World Is Changing,’ you’ll find over four hours of activities, a recipe, an eco heroes manifesto poster, a reward chart, and much more. The contents support the national curriculum: they’ve been developed in consultation with a qualified headteacher.

‘It’s Our Planet Too’s vision is for every child to believe that they have the power to protect our planet. With the need to tackle climate change, improve climate literacy, and weave sustainable practices into all that we do, there has never been a more crucial time to inspire and educate our children about environmental issues, than now.

One-off tool kits are available, and discounted subscriptions are available for 3, 6, and 12 months. As a social venture, ‘It’s Our Planet Too‘ is committed to giving back: they achieve this by giving a minimum of 50% of their profits to causes.

The venture was Founded by Kate Cohen (a mother-of-two) in 2019, before becoming a social enterprise in October 2021, the same month that their ecommerce site went live.

Kate is a lifelong eco-enthusiast (and a child of the eighties). She studied Environmental Science at University. This followed with a London commute (which was later replaced by a toddler, a baby, and a completely new way of life as a parent), which inspired Kate to begin writing stories about endangered animals in rhyme. Little did she know, that these stories would go on to form the basis of her venture.

“Hearing about the state of our environment can be truly overwhelming. It can be difficult to know how we as individuals we can make a difference. I truly believe that if everyone was aware of the impact their actions were having, they would take positive steps to change it,” said Kate.
