Dragons And Daisies: Children’s Clothing And Accessories.
Dragons + Daisies wants to create a positive and affirming message for young children with their outfits and accessories inspired by street art and urban music.
The brand’s Founder, Shimite Offor grew up in North London. From an early age, she discovered that she had a talent for finance.
She taught herself how to use the accounting software Sage, and she eventually became an in-house bookkeeper, before going on to study various accountancy qualifications.
Shim’s experience has seen her work for a number of large scale companies, including a property investment firm (where she managed a portfolio worth £500 million), major beauty and cosmetic brands (including L’Occitane and Charlotte Tilbury), and she was a Financial Controller for the UK’s largest qualitative market research company, as well as coordinating the business portfolios of high net worth individuals, and various angel investors.
In her early thirties, the first of Shim’s three children arrived, which gave her a fresh outlook on life, forcing her to assess what was important to her. After wanting to spend more time nurturing her growing family, and with a desire to combine her passions and interests with her work life, she decided to set up her own business in 2016: Dragons & Daisies.
“Running a business is just like Motherhood itself. The landscape is forever changing, and just when you think you’ve got it sussed, someone will come along and tell you the contrary,” said Shim.
Dragons and Daisies was originally designed for mini nonconformists; boasting a gender neutral stance, and a socially conscious outlook to packaging, manufacturing, and marketing. However, in 2020, the business made a pivot to cater to frazzled mums who were at home juggling homeschooling alongside work all under one roof!
Next up: vegan friendly pamper hampers, empowering parents t-shirts, and high quality accessories, such as thermal water bottles to help with the upkeep of a very much needed well-being. Now, Shim runs the bulk of the business from home, and she wears the numerous hats of chief designer, fulfilling orders, photography, managing the online store, email marketing, and social media.
Her brand has been featured in international publications, blogs, and childrens’ TV shows.
