Lora GENE: The Sustainable And Inclusive Feminine Wardrobe.

With true sustainability at its heart, Lora GENE is a B-Corp fashion brand that’s dedicated to creating global positive change towards a more sustainable future.

The brand is a British, contemporary womens-wear label that champions sustainability, size inclusivity, and the diversity of the female form. Women from all over the world inspire Lora GENE with their unique beauty, power, and spirit.

The range is a clean, minimalistic, and feminine wardrobe staple, that boasts intelligent tailoring, and out of the box design elements.

“Lora Gene is not just one woman’s vision. It is not self-centred. It’s a collaborative concept that welcomes, and is designed to acknowledge diverse views about women and their needs and desires; women of all sizes, ages and races,” said the brand’s Founder, Lora Niklaeva.

And for Spring/Summer 2022 (SS22), Lora GENE rolled out a new collection: the Lora GENE SS22; which was released in February and April 2022. It features breeze dresses, kaftans, and knits of pure cotton and linen blends – perfect for warmer weather.

Lora Nikolaeva conceptualises this collection not as a replacement of past seasons, but instead as a refresher – made to compliment the current classics. From cotton shirts, to oversized knits and silk trousers, to fresh shades, and a trending palette of lavender and blues and greens, the collection adds a subtle boldness and confidence to the female wardrobe, eradicating the appeal of newness for the sake of newness.

Modelling from the age of 16, Laura gained first-hand experience of the ugly side of the fashion world through her career, where she not only experienced the damaging mental and physical effects of stereotypical casting, but she saw first hand – the wider implications of how the industry treats women who don’t fit the industry mould.

As a result, Lora GENE launched in 2010. The brand was always aimed to break this mould, by designing timeless styles for all female forms – no matter what size, age, or race, and by casting real women who represent the society we live in. Partly born out of frustration with claims from mainstream brands that plus-size women were “too hard to design for,” Lora recently teamed up with the diversity activist and influencer, Aja Barber.

With true sustainability at its heart, Lora GENE is a B Corporation business, committed to creating positive change towards a more sustainable future. This certification ensures an ongoing dedication to the principles of fair trade – supporting fair wages, good working conditions, gender equality, transparency, and the utmost care for the environment.
