Kadobe: Children’s Bedding, With Sustainability At It’s Core

Kadobe is pending B Corp status, and is a proud member of 1% For The Planet, meaning that 1% of its sales are donated to environmental non-profit organisations.

Kadobe is a children’s bedding brand, with sustainability and ethics at it’s core. The range include fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases, quilts, and more.

Their products are made with organic cotton, which is better for children and the planet. The bedding also contains wool (which is scientifically proven to improve quality of sleep), and bamboo, which is breathable, absorbs moisture, and is naturally hypoallergenic.

Kadobe was launched in 2021 by Humayun and Asma Ahmad, because their children’s eczema flared up in bedding that wasn’t breathable.

Prior to launching Kadobe, Humayun graduated from Business School in 2010, before working as an Actuarial Analyst. Shortly after, Humayun joined the family business in the automotive industry, where he was responsible for sourcing overseas suppliers, and managing the purchase of imports for the business.

During this time, he secured a network of manufacturing contacts, and in 2019, he was inspired to create a more premium and design-led sustainable bedding brand, whilst shopping for bed linen for his own children. Having been sourcing product and materials in his previous role, he already had strong supplier contacts locally and across the globe, and he was able to instruct production for Kabode with design and development insight and knowledge.

Asma graduated from the Institute of Education ten years ago, and has enjoyed a career as a primary school teacher. Asma joined forces with Humayun to create Kabode, with a focus on the design and branding element of the business.

Looking to my own children, and identifying that their own sleeping patterns relied on the quality of their bedding and how that had an impact on the whole sleep environment, we wanted to make bedding that was both better for children and the planet, and that’s why our product range is made from 100% organic cotton, and sustainably produced materials,” concluded Humayun.
