Puff Puff Ministry: Delicious West African Doughnuts For All
Puff Puff Ministry‘s mini doughnuts (popularly known as puff puff in Nigeria) have been a hit since the Olaleye sisters launched their business in August 2020.
The four sisters (who moved to the UK from Nigeria in 2007) are on a mission to bring the joy of puff puff to households in Haringey. Inspired by their mum’s original recipe (which happens to be vegan), the Olaleye sisters have added a modern twist to this quintessential West African treat.
And, there’s a selection of toppings, too: Oreo Chocolate Drizzle, Nutella and Walnut, Milo and Milk, Biscoff, and Cinnamon Sugar. Within one week of their first sale, Puff Puff Ministry launched a nationwide delivery service, to keep up with growing demand in the UK.
“We’ve been completely blown away by the level of support we’ve received since our launch. What started out as an idea in our family group chat, has now become a dedicated puff puff delivery service. Our mission is to put puff on the map in Britain, giving people a taste of our heritage,” said Yossie Olaleye.
“We know that many people may not have tried puff puff, so we’ve kept our toppings simple, to make sure that we don’t compromise on the original taste. We also offer puff puff without toppings, as it’s a great starting point for those who are curious and want to try them for the first time,” added Yossie.
Each Puff Puff Ministry Founder has brought their own unique experience to the business. Marianne Olaleye is currently working in a design studio in London as a Global Content Lead.
Yossie Olaleye is a Marketing and Communications Consultant for financial services firms. Lola Olaleye is a PhD Researcher and Lecturer at a London University, and Fola Olaleye is a Housing Innovation Specialist at the UK’s innovation accelerator for cities, transport, and place leadership.
To date, Puff Puff Ministry has been recommended by BuzzFeed, and they’ve provided catering for leading national and international brands, including Twitter, TikTok, Naked TV, Spotify, MediaCom, Hanover, and Tate & Lyle.
