HotTea Mama Launches Menopause And Period Pain Relief Tea.

HotTea Mama has created two new blends, named ‘Take a Pause’ and ‘Over the Moon.’ Both are focused on the discomfort and pain linked to menopause and periods.

Customers were continuously asking for products for premenstrual syndrome (PMS), poly-cystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, fertility, and menopause.

So… HotTea Mama’s Founder Bethan Thomas got to work. She expertly-made two new blends to support the body through some of it’s most important and challenging times: the menopause.

Bethan selected natural herbs that have been used for millennia to support some of the most common symptoms, from irregular periods and heavy blood flow, to anxiety, a lack of sleep, and hot flushes.

These include Raspberry Leaf, Ginseng, Gingko Biloba, Liquorice, and Valerian. Each ingredient has been selected for a functional purpose, but in combination, they also create a refreshing herbal blend that is best enjoyed iced if you suffer with hot flushes.

The ‘Over the Moon’ tea has been blended for women for whom premenstrual stress and tension, irregular periods, and conditions linked to fertility, such as endometriosis and PCOS, is a problem.

Selected herbs have been used traditionally for millennia to help women to soothe cramps, reduce bloating, improve sleep, and regulate periods. These include Raspberry Leaf, Chamomile Flowers, Gingko, Spearmint, Dandelion Root, and Rose Petals.

Each tea bag can be used twice to create 30 cups of tea from a box. The teas are whole-leaf, vegan, and gluten free, and the teabags are plastic-free and biodegradable, which means that they can be added to a food compost bin. Bethan Thomas and Kate Achilles first met in the city of Oxford, and they pointed out a common problem during their pregnancies: they would struggle to find delicious caffeine-free drinks.

A desire to concoct their own healthy drinks to support their pregnancies and new motherhood saw them experimenting with raspberry leaf and fennel. It was Kate who suggested to her ‘tea nerd’ friend Bethan that she should use her knowledge and expertise (Bethan is the first non-Chinese person to gain a degree in Tea Science from Fujian Agricultural University).

When my friend Kate was pregnant, she would often ask me for advice on what she could drink. I would tap into my knowledge to recommend herbs and blends that could help her with morning sickness, or be a satisfying replacement for caffeinated drinks,” said Bethan.

This research helped me, too, when I was expecting my first child. We kept asking ourselves, why is nobody offering this kind of product?” added Bethan.

Now selling over a million teabags a year, HotTea Mama has won various awards, including the 2018 Bizzie Baby – Morning Sickness Bronze Award, the 2019 UK Baby Awards for Best Maternity Product, the Gold Award Birth Preparation Product (2022 Dear Bump), and more recently, the Gold Award for Best Tea and Coffee from the 2021 Nourish Awards.
