Shadow Foam: The Foam Organisation Tool That’s Used Globally

Launched in 2012, Shadow Foam is a unique grade of foam that can be used for tool control, displays, presentations, organisations, gifts and other applications.

It’s used globally by the military, by Formula 1 teams, and in the aviation industry.

Jonathan Shone (a former engineer) launched the company, because he wanted to bring corporate-grade tool control to small businesses, and to people at home.

Although Shadow Foam began life in the garage, now (ten years later) Jonathan employs twelve people, powered by a large manufacturing unit in Cheshire.

This year will see the company turn over its first £million, with plans to expand into a European distribution centre later on this year.

Shadow Foam’s unique marketing approach and YouTube channel has been largely responsible for their success, with an impressive 40k subscribers, and with some videos achieving up to two million views.

Customers are looking for transparency in the businesses they buy from nowadays, and we’ve found that our YouTube channel ticks this box. It gives our fans and customers an in-depth look into the product in-use, and a real sense of the business that they are buying from,” said Jonathan.

We also try to answer all questions, and connect with our audience in a way that traditional marketing techniques just don’t allow, so YouTube is increasingly becoming a very good channel for us,” added Jonathan.
