Fiona Matheson Studio: Scottish Inspired Artwork + Home-wares

Fiona Matheson launched her eponymous brand and studio in 2021, which is best-known for making silk scarves, cushions and beautiful Scottish-inspired paintings.

She’s an award-winning artist that’s highly-regarded for her distinctive, expressive landscapes – that are widely exhibited, and held in global private collections. Her paintings pay homage to her rugged, wild, romantic homeland – the Scottish Highlands.

Her collection of high-end silk scarves were developed from a concept that she started to work on a year ago, in 2021. As demand rose over the following few months, Fiona created more products to capture her striking art.

They (the products) are a reflection of my flagship paintings. They beam with colours that are characteristic of the wild, vibrant beauty of the Scottish Highlands. I have reached a momentum in my career, where a desire to share my art on a larger scale became possible by creating these luxurious products,” said Fiona.

It celebrates my beginnings as an artist, and my early training in textiles for home and fashion. My team and I worked hard to translate colours and textures from the original art for the highest sensory experience. I am thrilled to introduce new products that we have worked on during the summer months,” continues Fiona.

Her flagship products include a collection of luxury silk scarves that are made from 100% double-sided-printed silk with hand-rolled edges, that use the softest fabrics to enhance a lustrous finish.

We pride ourselves on being a gender-neutral business. All of my products represent the values we stand for. The timeless designs reflect the strong personality of the artwork, and each of the scarves complement your personality – rather than standing out as a singular statement,” said Fiona.

Fiona started her artistic career at Kingston University and Winchester, graduating from the School of Art in Textiles and Fashion, as well as being selected as a Royal Society of Arts ‘Young Designer into Industry.’

She then became a senior men’s knitwear designer who supplied M&S, and she was elected as a member of the Courtaulds’ Design Committee.

Fiona’s growing brand employs an energetic, creative team who are working together to ensure their promise of timeless luxury, unique artistry – that’s synonymous with the Fiona Matheson Studio.
