New Product: Braw Beard Celebrates Its Ten Year Anniversary.

Braw Beard celebrates its ten year anniversary – with a new oil launch, a commemorative gift pack and plans for the next Braw Beard and Moustache Championships.

Braw Beard is a Scottish company that makes beard conditioners. The conditioners are made with 100% natural ingredients, including cedar-wood, hemp seed, and argan (which is sourced from Europe, and the USA).

To mark Braw Beard’s ten year anniversary, the limited edition commemorative pack features the first three Braw Beard oils, with the original artwork designed by its founder John when the company was first launched, AND a special standalone anniversary beard oil – made with eucalyptus, cedar-wood, and bergamot.

As part of the celebrations, John has also unveiled plans for the Braw Beard and Moustache Championships in February 2023 at Drygate Brewery, which first began in 2017. The first four events from 2017 – 2020 welcomed over 1200 attendees from around the world, with participants winning awards such as ‘Best Ginger Beard,’ ‘Best Freestyle Beard,’ ‘Best Over 12 inches Beard,’ and ‘Best Fake Beard.’

Braw Beard (which is based in East Lothian) was founded in 2012 by John Jackson, a former graphic designer – who after a mountain bike accident in Fort William – broke his back whilst training for a six-hour endurance race. As part of his recovery, John underwent various sports rehab therapies which helped to get him back on track, resulting in him taking on a sports massage course to learn how to make his own massage oils.

John first started to make hair oil for his wife, but after trying it on his beard, he spotted a gap in the market for beard oil, and Braw Beard became the first ever Scottish beard-care brand. Since launching, John’s business has worked with various charities, including the Beard and Moustache Clubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Liverpool, with a percentage of sales going to Cash for Kids, Chris’ House, and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

John also runs a series of podcasts and a weekly Facebook live check-in call with ‘The Brawtherhood’ community, which started at the beginning of the pandemic. John is also collaborating with a professional wrestler and a musician to create their own beard oil, and a bodybuilding coach to create recovery bath salts.

We are really looking forward to the next 10 years and developing even more products, working with more partners and charities, and also strengthening and building the ‘The Brawtherhood’ community, which is constantly growing and something I feel very proud of,” said John.
