Laura Zabo: Accessories Made From Recycled Tyres/Inner Tubes
Laura Zabo founded her brand in 2015, – to create unique and fashionable up-cycled statement pieces (they’re made from recycled bicycle tyres, and inner tubes).
By working with discarded bicycle/car tyres and inner tubes, Laura has stopped these items from going to landfill.
She’s found an innovative way to turn them into a unique, visually-stunning, and environmentally-focused selection of belts, statement pieces, and sandals.
Her creations are popular amongst eco-conscious customers, vegetarians, vegans, cyclists, and fashion lovers – who appreciate her ingenuity, and her unique ideas.
“The abundance of trash is a tremendous problem for us and our planet, and we need to make more room for ideas that help us to get rid of it, or transform the excess, instead of producing more and more. I was inspired by seeing items made by the Maasai for sale in the markets in Tanzania,” said Laura.
“I realized that I could create fashion that was beautiful, that would use materials that were destined to be thrown away, that would take generations to break down and poison the Earth. Now, we can save and celebrate these tyres and tubes,” added Laura.
Each Laura Zabo tyre and tube has its own story, and no two products are identical. They’re individually collected, retooled, and reborn – an embodiment of the recycling, low waste movement. Since launching, Laura Zabo has been spotlighted in various magazines that promote sustainable fashion.
