Elvis + Kresse Accessories: Made From Fire Brigade Fire Hoses

Elvis + Kresse: luxury bags, purses, wallets, and accessories – made from materials that are destined to end up in landfill (including fire brigade fire hoses).

The brand was launched in 2005 by Kresse Wesling CBE, and to date, a staggering 300 tonnes of material has been salvaged.

It all started when Kresse Wesling CBE had a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. It was discovered that all of the London Fire Brigade’s damaged and decommissioned hoses were sent to landfill. In response to this, Elvis & Kresse launched a rescue service.

Now, they rescue other waste materials, too, and their products have scooped up a whole host of awards and accolades along the way.

“Since 2005, we have rescued all of London’s decommissioned fire-hoses, and we’ve donated 50% of the profits to the Fire Fighters Charity. These hoses are still working hard, long after their first life,” said Kresse.

In 2017, the Burberry Foundation partnered up with Elvis & Kresse to tackle the even greater global problem of leather waste. This five-year partnership will see at least 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts from Burberry re-crafted into new luxury items, to be designed and sold by Elvis & Kresse.

Now, the brand collects twelve different waste streams; boasting several charitable partnerships and collaborations across multiple industries.

In 2021, Elvis & Kresse also took on a farm, in order to establish a regenerative agriculture project, to generate their own renewables, and to implement various other environmental initiatives.
