Beauty Favours is a luxury cosmetics brand, with a line of cruelty free shampoo bars that are plastic free and giftable (with future plans to expand the range).
Created at the end of 2019 as a research and development project by Leanne King and her husband Graham King, Beauty Favours launched their first products in November 2021, – four months after the birth of their second child.
Leanne has a degree in Chemistry (which led to her Ph.D. and Research associate post). She went on to build a career in skincare innovation, and science research. Graham holds several certifications in cloud engineering and security.
Leanne and Graham had always wanted to run their own business, but they were “never in the right place to do it.”
However, when Leanne was pregnant, COVID-19 happened, which gave the couple more time to think about it. They started out by researching different products, and they eventually decided to launch their own cruelty free, vegan friendly shampoo bars.
“We developed the brand and the company and we run all aspects of it, which is completely new to us, yet during the development, launch and now running of the business, we have had two babies who are still very young and who require most of our time and attention,” said Leanne.
“We also moved house during the process, and all while COVID-19 was happening. Despite this, we have had really good feedback about the products and the branding, so we feel really positive about the future of the brand,” added Leanne.
