Carry On With FARINO: Practical 360-Wheeled Top-Opening Bags

Launched in 2019 by Paola Farino, FARINO‘s carry-on products are made from stylish, weatherproof neoprene. They’re designed to take the weight off of customers.
The FARINO carry-on is an innovative, world-first, top-opening suit case – with 360 spinner wheels.
The Getaway carry-on (a travel and work bag) includes a secure laptop pocket. It is suitable for hand luggage on most international airlines. The Local (which is ideal for shoppers) is taller – with more capacity for shopping.
Paola Farino (a theatrical agent) lives and works in London. She travels (mostly) on foot.
“Like a lot of us these days, I was constantly lugging heavy bags around town – from my laptop and work accessories, to my sports gear and last minute shopping on the way home. Travelling light was never an option, and I was beginning to suffer with back and neck problems,” said Paola.
However, it was during a work trip to LA that the idea for FARINO first came about. Paola invested in a brand new suitcase with spinner wheels, and in her own words, she just “couldn’t believe how easy it was to move around.” Paola was so inspired by this discovery, that she vowed to “never pull a case behind her ever again.”
NEXT UP, Paola began to wonder if she could use similar wheels to ‘lighten the load.’
What followed? She designed a wheeled top-opening bag, and she asked her father (who is a retired architect) to draw up a prototype. and… the FARINO was born. The design was launched at the London Design Fair in 2019.
More recently, Paola and FARINO appeared on Dragons’ Den, and the product was awarded as ‘Best Travel Bag Manufacturer 2021’ by the Southern Enterprise Awards 2021.
