‘My Expert Midwife’ Launches New Skincare Range – For Babies

‘My Expert Midwife‘ has launched a new collection of midwife-developed and pediatrician-approved skincare products – that can be used by newborn babies, + more.
The products are suitable for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, too. There’s a Mega Mild Cleansing Wash, a Mega Mild Moisture Milk, a Totally Immense Dribble Defence, a Super Charged Skin Salve, and… a Mega Calm Massage Balm.
Lesley Gilchrist (a registered midwife, and the Co-Founder of My Expert Midwife) said:
“As midwives, we do not recommend regular newborn baths, but we do appreciate that there are times when a dip in the bath might be the only solution for removing the poo explosion or the sick up that happens after a feed. When you do need to clean your baby, we highly recommend using the most gentle products, that don’t have a fragrance – to keep the skin clean, and to minimize microbiome impact.”
“We have developed our baby skincare products to prevent skin problems and to soothe problem areas – via naturally simple, practical solutions. Skin-to-skin contact after bathing will help the baby to rebuild its microbiome,” added Lesley.
My Expert Midwife was founded in 2017 by a midwife named Lesley Gilchrist, and a massage specialist named Claire Charlton. The duo were inspired by their mutual understanding of the challenges faced by women during pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond, and so they created a range of products to tackle taboos around pregnancy and childbirth.
