The Urban Green Company: Sustainable Home-ware Alternatives.

Yas Batchelor’s business, ‘Urban Green Company‘ – is on a mission to combat global plastic pollution, via beautiful handmade, zero-waste, sustainable alternatives.

Launched in 2019, Urban Green Company (the sustainable home-ware brand) is making waves in the industry, via its ethically-crafted, plastic-free, household products.

Yas’ commitment to reducing plastic waste – traces back to her childhood. Growing up, her parents encouraged her NEVER to waste anything,’ and to always seek an alternative solution.

With a background in senior global management roles (as well as experience of working with ethical corporate companies, worldwide), Yas witnessed the various different approaches that countries all over – rely on, to tackle waste, which inspired her to establish Urban Green Company.

From a workshop in London, Yas and her talented team of machinists – handcraft a range of reusable goods, using 100% natural, raw materials. All other materials are ethically sourced, and delivered.

Urban Green Company’s core product line, includes: beeswax wraps, bowl wraps, cherry stone heat packs, and eco-friendly facial pads. In addition, the range also includes other environmentally-sound products, such as reusable sponges, organic produce bags, dish cloths, natural scrunchies, tea bags, face masks, and more.

Yas’ dedication to giving back – extends beyond sustainable practices.

As a mother whose daughter underwent a grueling bone marrow transplant, she experienced the incredible support provided by Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. As a result, the Urban Green Company donates a portion of its profits to these organisations.

The success of Urban Green Company is evident: their products are now stocked in 120+ independent stores across the country, and they’re shipped out to customers in America, Canada, and Europe, too.

“I love what I do, and I am very passionate about making products that benefit the planet; that educate people on how to better protect it in manageable everyday ways. We want to help save the planet for generations to come – with zero-waste, sustainable alternatives, that you’ll buy once, and love for a very long time,” said Yas.
