Beat IBS For Once And For All: Meet Bay’s Kitchen: The Gut-Friendly, Gluten And-Dairy-Free Food Brand.

Bay’s Kitchen helps IBS sufferers through their award-winning, low FODMAP, gut-friendly, gluten and dairy-free products. More recently, the brand has just launched their own ketchup, BBQ sauce, and vegan mayonnaise range.

The full Bay’s Kitchen collection includes: 10 stir-in sauces, 3 soups, 3 gravies, 3 stocks, and now: a ketchup, a BBQ sauce and two vegan mayonnaises.

Each of their products (including their Katsu Curry), are made WITHOUT high FODMAP ingredients. And they’re free from most allergens, including gluten and dairy, – to ensure that people can consume their products without triggering symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), or other food intolerances.

‘Low FODMAP’ means that Bay’s Kitchen’s products are free from hard-to-digest ingredients, such as onions, garlics, lentils or wheat (which can create upset in the gut, and trigger cramps, bloating, gas, and changes in bowel habits). Plus, the majority of their products are certified as vegan.

Bay’s Kitchen was Founded in 2016 by a Former account manager, named Bay Burdett (after being diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) in 2015). She launched their first products in 2018.

After years of suffering with IBS symptoms, Bay was advised to follow a low FODMAP Diet, and to eliminate foods that were high in FODMAPs (Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols, – or to put it more simply: short-chained carbohydrates and sugar alcohols), – which can be naturally found in foods, as well as in additives.

She soon realised that there were few convenient, good-tasting low FODMAP food products available in the UK, and after discovering that as much as 15-20% of the world’s population has been diagnosed with IBS (with 1 in 3 suffering with IBS-type symptoms), she knew she couldn’t be the only one who was looking for foods that didn’t contain hard-to-digest ingredients. And so, Bay’s Kitchen was born.

Bay’s Kitchen was born from my own desire to help others following a low FODMAP or free-from diet, – to be able to enjoy foods that don’t trigger symptoms, yet are still packed with flavour for the whole family to enjoy together, and are convenient for our fast-paced lives,” said Bay.

It’s incredible to have been able to build this brand, and to grow the range of products from 3 to 23 in a few short years, along with major listings in Ocado, Morrisons and Amazon, as well as selling internationally in 7 different countries,” she added.

Since launching, Bay’s Kitchen has snatched up various awards, including the Gut Health Product Of The Year category at the Food Matters Live Awards 2021, and the Gold and Bronze medal winner at the Free From Food Awards, 2021.
