LAUNCHING SOON! Solis Clothing: The Fashion Start-Up That’s On A Mission To Help People With Depression.

LAUNCHING THIS AUGUST, 2021: Solis Clothing was developed by Justin Proud. After reflecting on his own journey with depression, he created Solis Clothing to provide t-shirts that help(s) others who are also battling with their mental health.

Solis Clothing is an inclusive fashion brand, which promotes honesty and truth when it comes to depression. For each t-shirt sold, £5 is donated to the Samaritans, – enabling the charity to answer more calls from those in crisis, and in need.

“We’re living through a time in history where people are more lonely than ever before, and we’re in desperate need for a meaningful connection,” said Justin.

Back in 2017, WHO estimated that 300 million people were experiencing depression worldwide. It’s estimated that since the pandemic, that number has DOUBLED. Depression and other mental disorders can reduce life expectancy by up to 10 years, and overall, depression and other mental disorders contribute(s) to a whopping 14.3% of yearly deaths, worldwide.

Justin (who previously worked for HSBC) used his struggles with depression as a catalyst for his own transformation and change. He realised that his depression was trying to communicate a need for self reflection and change. So Justin embarked on a journey of self discovery, developing and refining his ideas, which he hopes will provide relief and solace for others in the same position, – and Solis is his starting point.

“I realised that when I searched the web for a brand that represented me, my pain, and my need for hope, I couldn’t find anything that met my needs. And this is why I created Solis: a brand for people with depression, by someone with depression,” said Justin.

“I’m not creating a cool, new, or exclusive tribe. I’m simply providing belonging and hope for one that already exists,” he said.
