The Shed Collection: High Quality, Handmade Home Fragrances.

The Shed Collection is a unique range of high-quality home fragrances, which are handmade by a Bristol-based husband-and-wife team, Rob and Roberta Henderson.

The product range includes reed diffusers, room sprays, wax melts, and gift boxes.

The Shed Collection’s Roberta Henderson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer in 2016, and after extensive surgery and treatment, she returned to “normal life,” and full-time employment. However, in 2019, unfortunately, the cancer returned, – forcing Roberta to come to terms with a new type of reality.

This time, there would be no return to full-time employment, with COVID-19 preventing her from leaving the house for months. To stave off boredom, initially, she baked, but “there’s only so much bread and cake that one can eat during lock-down,” so she turned her skills to filling their home with various different scents and reed diffusers, instead.

After months of research, learning and testing, The Shed Collection was officially born in February 2021. By then, room sprays and wax melts had been added to their product range. Alongside her business, Roberta continued to work for Apetito (in their Healthcare division, as a Training And Operations Manager). Apetito are the parent company of Wiltshire Farm Foods.

The Apetito division sells food into hospitals for patient meals, both to the NHS and to it’s contractors. Roberta’s job was to make sure that they knew how to get the best out of their food. But this month in January 2022, Roberta will take the bold step of leaving her job of thirteen years to concentrate on The Shed Collection, and move it from a hobby to a new career.

Roberta said: “As much as I love my job and the team, the time is right for me to make this change, and to spend more time with my husband. In 2022, I want to continue to learn, focussing on candle making, and the benefits of essential oils to bring both elements into our range of products.”

The Shed Collection’s Christmas wax melts were featured in the ‘Your Home Christmas Made Easy’ magazine, published in September last year (2021), and their wax melt Advent Calendar made it into the ‘Pick Me Up!’ December 2021 special.
