It’s Halal: The UK’s 1st Ever Halal Non-Subscription Recipe Box

It’s Halal is the U.K.’s first Halal non-subscription recipe box to make dinner times hassle-free, by providing all pre-portioned ingredients, and an easy-to-follow recipe card.

First founded as Halal Fresh in April 2019, and later re-branded to Its Halal in 2022, the mission is to bring back the joy of cooking to those who are caught in the fast-food mindset, whilst also catering to the Muslim community.

It’s Halal’s Founder Saima has always had a passion for food and feeding people. With a background in event management, and experience in various other industries, Saima became an entrepreneur – by embarking on the journey of starting her own business.

Having previously worked in food banks, she understands the importance of food from a cultural perspective, and she wanted to create a recipe box service that caters specifically to the needs of the Muslim community.

It’s Halal has two types of boxes: the traditional box (which includes meat, fish, and vegetables), and the vegetarian box (for those who prefer plant-based options).

Each box comes with carefully selected, pre-portioned ingredients, and a recipe card that guides customers through the cooking process. To date, the brand has sold over 33,000 meals without any major marketing efforts. They’ve grown organically, fueled by positive word-of-mouth and repeat customers. “We’re more than just a recipe box. We’re a lifestyle choice,” said Saima.
