Premium Cycle-Wear Brand, ‘Fat Lad At The Back,’ – Launches Their BRAND NEW Plus-Size(d) Triathlon Suit(s)

Since triathlons are back after a long-awaited return, expert cycle-wear brand, Fat Lad At The Back, – has found the perfect time to launch their inclusive, plus-size(d) triathlon suit(s).

The start-up is best-known for creating high-quality, inclusive cycle wear for all shapes and sizes, such as their bold Camo collection, which is popular amongst larger cyclists. After running a trial amongst their customers, the suit is BACK, – but with a new and improved design made from a sports Lycra fabric (featuring a lightweight triathlon pad), silicone hems (to keep the legs in place), and a front zip, – providing extra ventilation when needed.

For men, the new suit comes in 44” to 58” chest sizes, and for women, – 42” to 50” bust, with guaranteed durability. The brand’s likes being bold and proud, – which trickles down into everything they do.

Richard (their Co-Founder) had always been called the ‘fat lad at the back’ as a term of endearment by his cycling mates, because he was never the conventional cyclist and he knew it, and so he wore the name with pride knowing that fact. Although he might have been the’ fat lad at the back,’ he was still on the bike, and that’s all that mattered to him.

It became clear to Richard and Lynn (the Co-Founders) that cycle wear wasn’t made for guys of Richard’s size, and he was constantly uncomfortable on his bike, and so it occurred to them that if they couldn’t find any premium cycling gear in a plus-size and a comfortable fit, then it was highly likely that no one else could. And that’s where Fat Lad At The Back was conceived.

Lynn Bye, the Co-Founder and Boss Lady at Fat Lad, said: “The triathlon is no longer the domain of the skinny. People of all shapes and sizes are having a go, and it’s wonderful to see what they can achieve. For larger people, finding quality triathlon gear which fits well can be a challenge, but this couldn’t be more important to their experience, and the feeling of being part of ‘the club.’ Our new suits will be one less thing that people have to have to think about on the day.”
