Check Out This ‘Pawsome’ New Dog Accessories Brand, COCOPUP.

Hot diggity-dog: a ‘pawsome’ new dog accessories brand, named COCOPUP (a sister company of Coconut Lane), – is taking dog accessories to a whole new level.

COCOPUP London was launched in 2020 by Charlie Stagg and Jess Lancaster (who are also the Founders of an established homeware and fashion label, named Coconut Lane, which was Founded in 2015). Their inspiration came, when a certain Cavachon pup, named Ralph, – entered their lives.

COCOPUP is a dog-centric brand, designed for those whose pooches enjoy the more stylish side of life. The self-proclaimed, dog-obsessed friends decided that 2020’s lock-down was the ‘pawfect’ excuse to finally fulfil their dream of getting a dog! However, although Ralph easily settled in, the duo found it difficult to source the right accessories.

Now, COCOPUP London is the ‘go-to’ brand for fashionable ‘pawrents’ and dogs. Their revenue is already up over 600%, compared to November of last year, and the future is looking bright for the start-up. Their growing range of products seamlessly pulls together your look, with matching dog and fashion accessories.

Choose from a stylish collection of chic dog-walking bags, with interchangeable straps, halters, leads, collars, bowties, AirTag cases, phone cases, sweatshirts, sportswear, facemasks, and so much more.

I (Shawnee Harkness) took a walk with COCOPUP’s Co-Founder, Jess Lancaster, – to find out a wiggle bit more about this fast-growing brand:

So why did you set up COCOPUP London?

“After getting Ralph during lock-down, we noticed a gap in the market for stylish, fun, and affordable dog accessories!” Explained Jess.

Can you tell us a bit more?

“Charlie and I met at school in Year 7, before going to Bristol University together to study Psychology and Sociology. After we finished University, I worked in digital marketing for a wedding directory, where I learned about Facebook and Instagram Ads, whilst Charlie interned for a beauty start up in London. We stayed in our roles for a year, before taking the plunge and starting Coconut Lane [in 2015].”

“We always dreamed of running our own business together, and we had lots of different ideas before Coconut Lane – a year after finishing University. 5 years later, and [in the midst of] the Pandemic, we were looking to branch out into more product categories, and that’s when Coconut Lane’s sister company was born, – COCOPUP.”

Off the top of your head, can you tell us an interesting fact?

“The interesting part of our story is that we started Coconut Lane with no experience or business-focused qualifications. When we started out, lots of people encouraged us to wait a few more years until we had more experience. The truth is, we didn’t know anything about running a business, but we just learned along the way. We started Coconut Lane with no business plan and no investment, – just £1000 each to buy some stock and to test on Facebook Ads.“

“[Then] we wanted to create a brand that would enable our customers to match their pups! So trend-led designs was the perfect starting point for both ‘Hoomans’ and dogs. The rest is history, and COCOPUP was born in November 2020.”

What is your design philosophy?

“Our designs primarily come from our Sister brand, Coconut Lane. We have a core focus on trend-led, fun prints, which are chic and stylish.

Since launching, COCOPUP has already sold over 30,000 units. Their Instagram following has grown to nearly 50k in less than 1 year, and their September 2021 revenue was up 710% compared to Jan 2021. All in all, the duo have been overwhelmed by the public’s response.

£1 from every order goes to The Dog’s Trust.
