Kalón Has Launched On Kickstarter (For Their 5-in-1 WIT Bag)

Launched in 2021 (by a successful entrepreneur named Teresa Chan), Kalón‘s 5-in-1 WIT Bag provides a 5-way carry alternative to the outdated ‘bulgy’ bag design.

Prior to launching Kalón, Teresa Chan was the Co-founder of a Fintech software company, focusing on developing children’s financial habits. She was proudly named as a ‘Forbes Under 30’ in Finance & VC in Asia in 2020.

Kalón’s mission is to create innovative, premium quality, sustainable pieces that empower modern lifestyles. Kalón symbolises a collective of change-makers who are striving to create a better future, and an uncompromising way of life (which their WIT Bag reflects, through it’s ethics, aesthetics, luxury design, and functionality).

Designed in New York, the WIT Bag (which is made from cactus leather) prioritises the user, and fulfils a need. The bag can be worn as a handbag, a tote, a cross-body, a backpack, and/or a top handle.

Being an entrepreneur and constantly in motion, Teresa found herself struggling with awkward, heavy, bulky bags. More often than not, these bags skimped on shoulder support, compromised on comfort, and lacked the organisation and easy-accessibility she craved.

Teresa searched high and low for the ultimate bag that does it all, but none of them quite made the cut. “Technology is constantly transforming our lives, so why aren’t handbags innovating? I wanted to re-imagine everyday bags. Every one I had ever owned, had lacked or compromised on something,” said Teresa.
