Glowb: The Vegan Skincare Brand (Launched By Sophie Hughes).

BEAUTY REDEFINED: Meet Glowb, the vegan skincare brand that was launched by Sophie Hughes (the British plus-sized model, body positivity, + self-love advocate).

Launched in 2020, Glowb generated an impressive £2.1 million turnover during it’s first 12 months of trading.

The products are made in the UK, they’re available in a 100% recyclable luxe pink glass packaging, AND… they’re Leaping Bunny certified, too. The range includes:

  • Freaky Clean Micellar Water,
  • Not Another Pink Mask,
  • Glisten Up Hydrating Mist,
  • Hyaluronic + Chill Serum,
  • Dirtier the Better Cleanser,
  • Not Another Pink Mask,
  • And more.

The business was launched by Sophie Hughes, who’s been modelling since she was fifteen years old, with a client list that includes the likes of ASOS, boohoo, and Superdrug.

Whilst living in Australia for five years, Sophie received a devastating and heartbreaking phone call: her baby nephew had become severely ill. After spending months on a transplant list, she agreed to donate part of her liver, so she flew 10,000 miles from Australia back to Manchester.

We both made a full recovery, and post-procedure, my weight changed, and I was left with a seven-inch scar down my midriff. I was riddled with insecurities after the operation, refusing to let anyone see it. This was the beginning of my body positivity advocacy, and now, I wear my scar with pride,” recalled Sophie.

“I had a dream to build a brand and a product range that helps people to feel beautiful exactly as they are. Glowb is a collection of British-made, vegan skincare products that transforms your skin, and reminds you of your self-worth,” added Sophie.

“It’s so important for stretch marks, cellulite, and scars to show you that you don’t have to have to look a particular way to be beautiful. I’ve been vocal about the importance of body inclusivity in fashion and beauty, and I use my platforms to spread the message of loving the skin you’re in,” concluded Sophie.
