Bare Kind: The Sock Brand That Donates 10% Of It’s Profits To Animal Conservation.

Bare Kind‘s socks are soft, cosy, and kind to the planet: each pair sold goes towards endangered animal species.

Bare Kind is a London-based company that boasts the largest animal sock range in the world: they donate ten percent of their profits to organisations that save(s) the animal on their socks, – giving consumers the opportunity to be environmentally-conscious.

The brand uses bamboo, and they’ve done so for the last three years (since 2018). Bamboo grows fast, has larger yields, is soft, moisture-wicking, and is antibacterial. With every four pairs of orangutan socks sold, Bare Kind and it’s customers can save an acre of forest for a whole year through the Orangutan Foundation. And that’s just one charity the brand supports.

“We want our customers to be able to give back to the world, to feel good about their purchase, and to have their favourite animal on their socks. There’s something very satisfying about a good pair of socks that contributes to the conservation of animals at the same time. Working on these causes I care about, is helping me to build a legacy I can be proud of,” said Lucy Jeffrey, Bare Kind’s Founder.

Bare Kind produces it’s ethically-sourced bamboo in a factory that’s been audited by SEDEX and BSCI, ensuring that workers are over the age of 18, and are paid a fair wage. Their fibres are certified OEKO-TEX, which ensures that the dyes are non toxic. The brand uses a lorry where possible, rather than a plane, – to reduce their carbon emissions, with a packaging that is plastic-free and recyclable.

Lucy Jeffrey started the company in 2018, whilst she was working for HSBC, because she sought to create something that could have a positive impact on the world. Since then, her brand has been featured in Starling Bank’s blog, and she was chosen to be the recipient of a UEA Grow It Award from UEA’s Enterprise Fund, along with being featured in may other online publications.
