Innovo Wearable Technology: The Clinically-proven, Non-invasive Treatment For Women Suffering With Urinary Incontinence

Innovo works by delivering clinically-proven, non-invasive pelvic-floor stimulation for women suffering with urinary incontinence, via unique wearable technology. The product is an FDA-approved, CE-marked treatment.

Urinary incontinence is the unintentional passing of urine, which affects millions of people. It is often caused by a weak pelvic floor: a weakness in the key set of deep muscles situated in the pelvis. The pelvic floor muscles can lose their tone due to a number of different triggers, which can result in the inability to control urination. Statistics show that urinary incontinence affects more women than hay fever does, yet it still remains a taboo subject.

The most common causes of a weak pelvic floor are pregnancy and childbirth, menopause and high-impact exercise. Like any muscle group, the way to strengthen the pelvic floor is through exercise, however most people do not incorporate pelvic-floor exercises into their routine. And that’s when Innovo comes into play. With Innovo, women can simply pull on a pair of exercise shorts for a 30-minute pelvic floor workout, in the privacy of their own home.

The Innovative NMES (neuro-muscular electrical stimulation) technology embedded into the INNOVO shorts helps to strengthen and re-educate their pelvic floor muscles, giving women the opportunity to live a leak-free life in as little as three months. Extensive, and exceptional clinical-trial outcomes conducted on over 600 subjects, – consistently demonstrated improvements in key outcomes, symptoms and acceptability.

INNOVO® was launched by their mother-brand, Atlantic Therapeutics (which develops professional and consumer medical devices) but was co-invented by Dr Ruth Maher in 2017.

Dr. Maher is a board-certified clinical specialist in women’s health from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, but she’s also held positions in the Women’s Health Council, and several committees within the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, and she used to own private practices in Dublin, and in the USA that specialised in women’s health, and chronic pain conditions.

Women should not just be told that leaks are a ‘normal’ part of ageing or childbirth, with the only solution being to ‘cope’ with symptoms using pads. With INNOVO, a REAL solution exists: one that treats the root cause by effectively strengthening and enhancing the coordination of the pelvic floor muscles, and gives women the opportunity to live a leak-free life,’ explained Dr. Maher
