Urinary incontinence is the unintentional passing of urine, which affects millions of people. It is often caused by a weak pelvic floor: a weakness in the key set of deep muscles situated in the pelvis. Dr. Maher is a board-certified clinical specialist in women’s health from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, but she’s also held positions in the Women’s Health Council, and several committees within the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, and she used to own private practices in Dublin, and in the USA that specialised in women’s health, and chronic pain conditions.
