This XMAS, Veluba Launches A Christmas Lights Tour In London

Veluba is a transport + tourism business created during lock-down. They’re on a mission to: reduce congestion in London, lower pollution, + improve air quality.

Their electric-assisted, 3-wheeled pedicabs are best-known for transporting commuters and visitors across London in a safe, fun, and sustainable way.

This Christmas, the innovative transport and tourism business will launch a brand new Christmas Lights Tour: cosy up with your loved one(s), and glide through London’s iconic Christmas decorations in a fun and sustainable way. The tour is set to launch on the 17th of November (2021), and it’ll run until the 23rd of December (2021).

Veluba’s Christmas Lights Tour will begin at Seven Dials: once you’ve been dazzled at The Dials, you’ll head down to Shaftesbury Avenue, before passing through the hustle and bustle of Soho, – towards the sensational window displays and the lights of Oxford Street. After that, you’ll cruise down Regent Street, and head on through Piccadilly Circus, before stopping off at Trafalgar Square (where you’ll gaze at the tree-mendous decor).

NEXT UP: you’ll journey down The Strand, and finish up in Covent Garden (where you’ll bask in the glow of over 115,000 twinkling Christmas lights that illuminate(s) the 19th century piazza). The tour also includes a complimentary bottle of mini prosecco (beer and soft drinks are also available, as well), – making the Veluba tour the perfect gift this winter season.

“After the success of our Landmark London tour, and our Historic London tour, we thought “what better way is there to enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights of London this year, than your own Veluba, complete with fizz?” So we made it happen. We’re SO proud to be able to provide such a wonderful Christmas experience, – that also contributes to reducing carbon emissions in the city,” said Amanda Hamilton, the Co-Founder & Head of Operations at Veluba.

Veluba was started by a husband and wife duo (Amanda and Keith Hamilton). Since launching, the business has gone from strength to strength. The idea for Veluba first came about in 2006, when Keith (who used to live in South Africa) decided to build himself an electric car. After strapping solar panels to a VW Golf Citi, he quickly recognised that this prototype wouldn’t make the cut, but he knew one thing: sustainable transport was the future.

Pairing that with his and Amanda’s background in IT and digital signage, the duo also wanted to create a network of mobile ad spaces, so they toyed around with electric-assisted mobile digital billboards ideas. Many prototypes later, Veluba was finally born. The business incorporates Keith’s passion for sustainable transport, whilst also delivering a commercial edge to advertisers.

The Veluba service finally launched in August 2020. The brand intends to work with the Government to license pedicabs, and for Veluba to become THE ‘gold standard,’ eco-friendly, short journey cab and tour provider of London.

Since launching, the start-up has already provided 300+ tours of London, AND they’ve clocked up a 5-star review on Trustpilot. Now, they’re ranked as number 8 out of 450 under “Outdoor Activities in London.”
